Magelang, The Indonesia Herald - In a series of Spirit of Borobudur activities, an event that aims to introduce the rich culture and history of Borobudur Temple, a Borobudur Heritage Walk was held. The event successfully attracted participants from various backgrounds, ranging from students to history and culture lovers.
Borobudur Heritage Walk, which took place on Sunday (16/2), invited participants to explore the Pawon temple area to Borobudur temple while learning about the history, architecture, and spiritual values contained in the world heritage site. Participants are invited to walk around the temple complex, guided by professional tour guides and history experts who provide in-depth explanations about the temple.
The event is not just a tour, but also an educational tool for the public to better understand the importance of cultural heritage preservation.
"Through Borobudur Heritage Walk, we want to invite the public to not only see Borobudur as a tourist destination, but also as part of the nation's identity that must be maintained and preserved," said Eko Sunyot, Chief Executive of Spirit of Borobudur.
This activity received positive appreciation from the participants. "I am very impressed with this event. Besides being able to enjoy the beauty of Borobudur, I also learnt a lot about the history and philosophy behind the construction of this temple," said a student from Magelang.
Spirit of Borobudur is an initiative initiated by Eko Sunyoto to promote Borobudur temple as the world's centre of culture and spirituality. Through various activities such as Borobudur Heritage Walk, it is hoped that the public will love and participate in efforts to preserve Indonesia's cultural heritage.
With the high enthusiasm of the participants, the committee plans to make Borobudur Heritage Walk a regular agenda in the coming years.
