Second Day of Cleanup of Semeru Cold Lava Material Focuses on Nguter Village, Lumajang


Lumajang -  The cleanup of materials and mud from the flash flood in Nguter Village, Pasirian Subdistrict, Lumajang District, East Java continues.

A number of Regional Apparatus within the Lumajang District Government, the Indonesian National Army, the National Police, and volunteers are still cleaning up to date.

In addition to several houses, cleanup is also carried out in a number of educational facilities, houses of worship and other public facilities. The cleanup also involves heavy equipment and tank trucks to facilitate the cleanup.

"Ejecting sediment with DLH tankers is being carried out at Nguter Elementary School, Kaliputih," explained the Head of Environmental Maintenance and Capacity Building, Lumajang District Environmental Agency, Gunawan Eko Prihantino when confirmed during his activities on Tuesday (11/7/2023).

It is known that the remaining flood materials in the form of mud and soil are still piling up at several points in Nguter Village. The cleanup activity, which involves nearly a hundred people every day, will last for the next week.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Section of Lumajang Police, Ipda Novandi, hoped that the joint personnel who worked together to clean up the mud could help alleviate the victims affected by the flood.
